The Barcelona Football Club will wear the logo of ‘Motomami‘, album by the Spanish singer Rosalía, instead of that of Spotify in the LaLiga Clásico against Real Madrid on Sunday March 19, which will be the second time that the Swedish company -main sponsor of the club- gives up its privileged position in the Blaugrana shirt to an artist.
“For the second time this season, the FC Barcelona shirt will become a space for celebrating musical creation thanks to Spotify, the club’s ‘main partner’,” announced the Blaugrana club.
So, ‘Motomami’ and Rosalía follow in the wake of Canadian composer Drakewho wore his logo on the Barça shirt on the occasion of the Real Madrid-Barça match on October 16.
For its part, the women’s soccer team will also join this initiative by wearing the same logo on their shirt during the Barcelona-Real Madrid game that they will play on Saturday March 25 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Two T-shirts with the Rosalía logo
In addition, Spotify and Barcelona have created two limited edition t-shirt collections. The first is an edition of only 1,899 units with the ‘Motomami’ logo on the chest and a number dedicated to the artist, with the name Rosalía and the number ‘1’, with a price of 399.99 euros in both the male and female versions.
The second is a brilliant shirt with only 22 units for sale, 11 men’s and 11 women’s. The letters have a phosphorescent effect in the dark, the numbers are numbered from 1 to 11, and they will also be signed by the players of the starting eleven of the respective classics. These shirts will be priced at 1,999.99 euros.
The vice president of the marketing area of Barcelona, Juli Guiu, assured that this initiative takes the collaboration between the club and Spotify to “another level”. “We have managed to surprise our fans around the world with an action that incorporates an artist as iconic as Rosalía into a shirt as beloved as Barça’s. Music and football form a long-standing dance partner,” he said.
For his part, Spotify’s vice president of sponsorships, Marc Hazan, added that they are “honored” to give up their space on the shirt to Rosalía, the most reproduced Spanish artist during 2022 on Spotify. “It is an opportunity to continue celebrating our association,” she valued.
