André is called up to the Brazilian National Team — Fluminense Football Club

He’s the best midfielder in Brazil! Midfielder André was summoned this Friday (03/03) to defend the main Brazilian team. Moleque de Xerém was called by the interim coach Ramon Menezes, who will lead the team in the friendly against Morocco, on the 25th of March, in Tanger.

The duel will be the first commitment of the Selection after the World Cup in Qatar, at the end of last year. The list of names summoned was announced in the auditorium of a hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

This is André’s first call-up to the main Brazilian national team. The defensive midfielder, however, had already been included by then coach Tite in the pre-list for the World Cup in Qatar. Moleque de Xerém has been standing out in Fluminense and has established itself as one of the main players in the country. Last year, his performances earned him the awards for best defensive midfielder in the Brasileirão in the official election of the CBF and in the traditional Bola de Prata, promoted by ESPN. In 2021, he had already been elected the revelation of the championship.

At the end of last year, Fluminense agreed to renew André’s contract until December 2026. Moleque de Xerém debuted as a professional in August 2020 at the age of 19, in a friendly against Botafogo. Today, the number 7 adds 115 games and three goals with the tricolor armor.
