Aeroméxico blames pilots for flight cancellations: “Their lack of support has caused them” – El Sol de México

Aeromexico Group collided with the Union Association of Aviation Pilots of Mexico (ASPA) by cancellation and delay of flights in the last days.

The union body rejected this afternoon that the pilots have any responsibility in the incidents that have caused near 60 flight cancellations from the airline between the weekend and this Tuesday.

However, The airline Mexican flag said ASPA’s accusations were false and that flight cancellations were due to the lack of support from the pilots in the face of various eventualities.

“The reason for these effects is that the current union leadership is promoting a policy of zero support in the face of disruptions that are common in world aviation, for example situations of bad weather, air traffic saturation, diversions due to sick customers or any eventuality, for least, that disrupts the operation of a flight.” Aeromexico said.

Airline ground staff said that have been affected because part of the crew, such as pilots and flight attendants, have completed the maximum flight hours allowed by law and their contracts.

Earlier in a statement, ASPA said that the problem is in the “erroneous operational restructuring” implemented by company management.

“They plan based on a mistaken idea that the crews have, by force, to accept flight days of up to 14 or 15 continuous hours or modify breaks to continue with their programming,” ASPA said.
