A worrying scene for Bennedict Mathurin

Quebecer Bennedict Mathurin left the Indiana Pacers game on Thursday after suffering a sprained ankle.

The native of Montreal North had only spent three minutes on the floor when he attempted a breakthrough towards the basket of the Houston Rockets. He fell awkwardly and spent long seconds on the ground before leaving the field.

After the game, head coach Rick Carlisle didn’t have a very concrete update to offer about his protege. However, he said he expected to miss a few games, according to the CBS network.

Mathurin is having an exceptional first season on the Silver circuit. Although he starts almost all of his team’s games on the bench, he averaged 16.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

His loss was felt by the Pacers, who gave everything to overcome the poor Rockets 134 to 125 in overtime.

Tyrese Haliburton took matters into his own hands, and not nearly. The second-best playmaker in the NBA this season had 29 points and 19 assists, one of his best performances of the season.

Myles Turner (21 points) and Jordan Nwora (18 points) also stood out in the victory

With a 15-51 record, the Texas team recovered in the fourth quarter thanks to Jabari Smith Jr., who had 30 points and 12 rebounds.
