At the microphone of BFM Business, Emmanuel Lechypre, a journalist specializing in the economy, dropped a bombshell about the future of the Marseille club. According to him, Rodolphe Saadé will soon be the owner: “They will soon buy OM, it’s only the beginning”, he launched. Info or intox ? Rodolphe Saadé is Chairman and CEO of the CMA-CGM group. The businessman is at the head of a fortune of 36 billion euros in 2022, according to the magazine Challenges. More than enough to allow him to buy the Marseille club and provide it with a great team.

Information to be taken with a grain of salt, however. Asked about a possible takeover of OM, Rodolphe Saadé said at the end of 2022 that this was not relevant: ” No. My intention is to put this partnership in place, to develop it with OM and I think that makes a lot of sense. For OM, it’s a strategic partnership that we’re putting in place and I think that’s enough. If I don’t use the term never in my sentence? I say ‘that’s enough’, that’s already a lot. »

As a reminder, Frank McCourt bought OM for around 50 million euros in 2016. The American billionaire has since bet several hundred million to strengthen the team and make up for the deficits. The Boston native has also repeatedly denied the idea of ​​separating from the Marseille club, which he wishes to bequeath to his children.
