Jean-Pierre Dartevelle, former vice-president of the FFT will be tried for a case of rape.

The case was revealed in the columns of the newspaper The Team. Jean-Pierre Dartevelle (72), former vice-president of the French Tennis Federation, is being prosecuted for a rape case. The latter, – beaten by Bernard Giudicelli in February 2017 at the head of the FFT – would have maintained a “sordid relationshipand taking advantage of an underage player.

These sexual relations which he considers “consentedwould have taken place between 2016 and 2018 in his dental office. Jean-Pierre Dartevelle denies the facts. “This dismissal decision is absolutely incomprehensible in view of the conclusions of the investigators who ruled out any constraint in this relationship which lasted nearly two years… It stems, in my view, from a manifest confusion between law and morality“Reacted Me Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, the defendant’s lawyer with L’Équipe. He had already been placed in police custody in 2018 on charges of “corruption of a minor” and “sexual assault on a minor over 15 years old”.
