Hannover – Swollen shins, bloody injuries from splinters of wood, but happy: martial arts master Kerim Duygu (43, kkc-hannover.de) really did it! With 70 dismantled baseball bats in one minute, the Hanoverian smashed into the Guinness Book of Records – in the Italian TV show “Lo Show dei Record” in Milan.
Kerim to BILD: “It was just incredible! But I wouldn’t have made it without my team!”
With his bare shin, Kerim splintered the hard bats. He had already smashed 65 rackets in 2016, and in 2020 a Japanese snatched the record from him. Now Kerim has brought him back to Hanover.
The racquets harder than the practice pieces Master Kerim used to train for the record. But even the toughest wood couldn’t break his will: “My leg is now in the recovery phase, but we are proud beyond all wood!”
