???? It’s time for New England to move out of the doldrums

The New England Patriots need to move now if they are to have a chance of competing in the AFC East when next season begins. Nobody wins games in March, but the fan knows that the team needs to reinforce its roster well considering the levels of the other teams in the division – and all this with the possibility of Aaron Rodgers signing with the New York Jets, which is likely at the moment.

The team comes from a considerable regression in 2022, not only in the quarterback position but also in other aspects, including the coaching staff’s own decisions. The post-Tom Brady era slump has become increasingly pronounced, and the doldrums in the first two days of free agency trading only saw the gap widen for the division’s top favorites.

Salary cap, why do I want you?

Nobody will be able to say that there was a lack of space on the Patriots payroll to invest in the market. When the tampering period started (which, in practice, is when deals start to be announced), the team had a lot of cash on hand. After two days, not many investments in players will make a difference.
