Youth circuits: the Chaumont stage passes the 100 mark

It has been a few years since the La Rochotte gymnasium has welcomed so many young badminton players. Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February, the Chaumont Badminton Club organized the 3rd stage of the chicks/minibad circuit and the youth circuit, open to youngsters to juniors.

In all, more than a hundred young people competed in this way, including 30 minibads and chicks (between 6 and 10 years old). The competition, overseen by the Aube/Haute-Marne departmental committee, brought together almost all the clubs, including Chaumont, Langres and Bettancourt, as far as Haute-Marne is concerned.

Proof that the work of training and structuring pays, the participation and the results of Haute-Marne are in clear progress. Thus, Chaumont won four victories, in particular thanks to its women, Léane Chiarla (minibad), Elsa Comte (chick) and Louann Guyot (minime), and Malo Foulon, winner in series 4 among the youngest. The Chaumont Badminton Club, with a badminton school of around sixty young people, completes its harvest with eight other podiums in the different age categories, including a hat-trick for the chicks.

Chaumont won a hat-trick among the chicks, with Elsa Comte, Layla Magrini and Maëlyne Petitjean (from left to right).

This competition was also open to veteran mixed doubles. Only three pairs made the trip, with a final victory going to the Chaumont duo Nicolas Wambst / Maud Marie dit Lacour, ahead of Romuald Dufour (Chaumont) and Anne-Zite Quentin (Langres).

The fourth stage of the youth circuit will take place on March 26, in Bar-sur-Aube.
