Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The young woman detained in the Campo Cielo neighborhood on February 22 beat her mother so that she would give her money to buy drugs, according to new information released on the case.
The Honduran National Police captured the young woman for physically assaulting her mother in the neighborhood sector sky fieldin Tegucigalpa.
According to the information detailed by the mother, the 19-year-old girl is a habitual drug user and demanded money to buy it. However, the elderly woman could not meet her demands, so her daughter proceeded to beat her.
In this sense, the arrest of the young woman occurred after her mother denounced her through the National Emergency System 911.
The young woman is charged with the crime of family abuse and was placed under the order of the Prosecutor’s Office on duty. As it became known, the young woman will remain in prison.

Physical violence cases
According to data revealed by the Conadeh Statistics Unit, at least 1,246 people have denounced that their physical integrity and life were in danger after being subjected to threats, mostly from unknown persons.
In the department of Francisco Morazán, people residing in TatumblaValle de Ángeles and Guaimaca and six other municipalities denounced that they were victims of threats.
while of the 298 municipalities that Honduras has, in 179 of them they were the scene of threats against the physical integrity and lives of some 3,373 people, in the last two years (2021-2022).
