Winner of the Cantal Sportsman’s Trophy

To say that the Mauritius Judo Club is on the rise would be an understatement. All the indicators are green for the club chaired by Michel Besse and Sébastien Petit. Whether in terms of results, enthusiasm (the hundredth license was registered the day before the award ceremony), supervision with Sébastien Coetmeur who came to assist Jordan Luis, and the conviviality where the melting- Pot between old and young works wonderfully, the JCM is progressing. It is therefore logical that the club was awarded the CDOS-Groupama Cantal Sportsman’s Trophy at the dojo on Friday evening.

Increase in numbers and dynamism of the Mauriac club were highlighted

It was up to Romain Jammet, who this evening wore the double hat of president of the Departmental Judo Committee and the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee to open the moment of the speeches. “It is a great recognition for this club, one of the majors of the department, which rewards all the work done by the leaders, the educators and the volunteers. This trophy highlights the dynamism he has shown in recent years and which can now evolve on brand new tatami mats. The club, which opened a section in Pleaux, with the support of the Cantal Committee, has also obtained good results in competitions and is invested in training, whether technically (with the fifteenth black belt in 25 years ), refereeing or teaching. »

Then to specify as president of the CDOS: “The Cantal Sportsman’s Trophy rewards sportsmen, clubs or events for their influence on the territory. Since its creation 25 years ago, the club has trained fifteen black belts as well as referees and new judo teachers. Its workforce has been on the rise for 2 years, and has also increased since it opened, in an unfavorable context at departmental level (30% drop over the past 20 years)”.

Franck Portalier, from Groupama, recalled the mutual fiber of the company: “We have no shareholders to remunerate and to whom to report, which allows us to redistribute on the territories through our local funds . We support a large number of associations and events in Cantal. We also finance preventive actions such as training in life-saving gestures (1,500 residents of Cantal in 18 months). I am happy that the Mauritius Judo Club is the winner because it advocates the values that are ours by adding respect and humility. The progression of the club’s workforce is impressive and demonstrates real dynamism and above all quality work. For this, it is necessary to have committed volunteers because it is, undoubtedly, the fruit of their commitment”.
