“We still have to improve as a team”

The United coach analyzed his team’s triumph against Nottingham Forest.

Erik Ten Hag, coach of Manchester United, was naturally pleased with the team’s response in the triumph against Nottingham Forest (3-0) in the first leg of the semi-finals of the English League Cup.

“I’m pleased with the performance and I think we controlled the game (…). There was a moment that could have changed the game and that shows we still have to improve, but overall we controlled it. Nottingham Forest also changed the system during the meeting and we didn’t anticipate that. It’s something we have to evolve and learn as a team”, shot the coach in statements to Sky Sports.

The Dutch coach also spoke of Weghorst, who scored his debut for United. “I know what he can do. He has a good scoring record. We created some good chances and he scored a goal, as a striker should do.”
