The final match of the 44th Ushigome District A Goodwill Youth Baseball Tournament (sponsored by the Shinjuku District Ushigome District A Elementary School PTA Chairperson, supported by the Tokyo Shimbun, etc.) was held on the 23rd at Ushigome Third Junior High School in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo. Waseda Juniors (top) won the upper grades category, and Tsurumaki Jaguars (bottom) won the lower grades category.
Waseda’s captain Ryo Tsukada of the senior division said, “It’s the first time I’ve won a championship in my generation. I’m happy because the record will remain with me for the rest of my life.” Tsurumaki’s captain Yuto Imura of the lower grades said, “Everyone was in good shape. I’m happy because it’s my first victory.”
