All seeded players in the men’s singles category won their matches on Thursday, but for several there was a lot of excitement about the outcome of the matches. Get an overview of all the quarter-final results.

The spectators in Blue Water Dokken signed off with the evening’s biggest round of applause, as they had just seen Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus play through from the quarter-finals at VICTOR DM 2023. But far from without difficulty.

It was a 52-minute contest against Jeppe Bruun, after Vittinghus had only survived a match point in the third set, before he decided it himself. The exciting match ended 21-12, 12-21, 22-20.

It was also a tough match for Victor Svendsen, when he defeated Rasmus Messerschmidt in three sets in a repeat of the DM final from 2021.

The women’s singles series unfortunately offered a farewell to the DM winner from 2014, Mia Blichfeldt. At the end of the first set, she withdrew from her match against Benedicte Silassen with an injury.

Søren Toft Hansen did the same at the beginning of the second set against second-seeded Mads Christophersen. So it was a farewell this time to Søren Toft Hansen, who on the first day at VICTOR DM delivered a great game and scenes of jubilation.

While there was a lot of excitement in the men’s doubles category, there was not so much of it in the mixed doubles. The four seeded pairs lived up to their favorite status as they all managed to win in two sets. The most excitement about the outcome was in the match between Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch and Sebastian Bugtrup/Mai Surrow, when it ended 21-19, 22-20.

Also in women’s doubles, all four seeded pairs advanced. Here, Ditte Søby and Sara Lundgaard had to fight the most for it, as they were out in three sets against Iben Bergstein and Mette Werge.

Even before the quarter-finals got under way, the men’s doubles with Mads Vestergaard and Daniel Lundgaard was assured of a place in the semi-finals. Second-seeded Jeppe Bay and Rasmus Prasz Espersen had to withdraw on Thursday due to Bay’s illness.

The newly formed men’s doubles team with Anders Skaarup and Mikkel Mikkelsen had no problems advancing as they beat Philip Illum Klindt and Mads Thøgersen safely in two sets.

Friday’s semi-finals will start at 5pm and can be seen on TV 2 SPORT and TV 2 PLAY.
