Atletico de Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has given an interview to ESPN. He was asked about the treatment Vinicius suffered in Spain.
The game against Real: “A derby week is a week where you will live less happy or very happy depending on the result. They are two quality teams but it must only be football.”

Insults towards Vinicius “It doesn’t just happen to him, it happens to all of us. When we play away, they insult me and it’s all over. I think it shouldn’t be football and that’s it. It doesn’t just happen to Vinicius, it seems because he’s very publicized, but it happens to a lot of other people and spectacular boys. Players in our squad, our coach… We get insulted.”
Racism towards Vinicius : “Racism is unacceptable, incomprehensible and it should never have a place in football. At the first insult of its kind, the guilty person must never again have the possibility of returning to see a match. There are children, there there is a rivalry but it’s only football.”
He lived it badly : “Of course. A lot of things go through your head and your body when they tell you that you are going to die or things about your wife, your children… It’s complicated to manage.
