VIDEO ⟩ Irving makes 36-point, shutout debut in Dallas

Dallas “Mavericks” basketball players recognized the superiority of Minnesota “Timberwolves” 121:124 at home.

Irving finished with 36 points, five rebounds and six assists. Lukas Doncic’s 33 points didn’t save Dallas from the loss either.

Christian Wood also scored 24 points for the Mavericks. None of the other players scored more than six points.

Meanwhile, for the winners, Anthony Edwards scored 32 points, Frenchman Rudy Gobert scored 21 points and collected 14 rebounds.

During the match, Minnesota was leading by as many as 26 points. At the end of the game, the home team had a chance to draw a tie, but at an important moment, Irving made a mistake and the shot at the basket missed.

Due to injury, Dāvis Bertāns, as well as Tim Hardaway Jr. and Maxi Kleber, could not help Dallas in this match.

The next game “Mavericks” will play on February 16 as a guest against Denver “Nuggets”.

“Mavericks” with 31 wins in 59 games occupies the fifth position in the overall standings of the Western Conference of the tournament table.
