According to preliminary information, 618 couples got married in Saxony-Anhalt in February 2022. On Valentine’s Day 2022, a Monday, 23 couples said yes.
As reported by the State Statistical Office, this day only took 5th place on the popularity scale with a share of 4% of all marriages concluded in February.
Valentine’s Day is often one of the most marrying days of February. A peak value was registered in 2014. On Friday, February 14, 2014, 122 couples were married in Saxony-Anhalt, which was 1/3 of all marriages concluded in February 2014.
There was a real rush to the registry offices on February 22, 2022, when 303 couples got married. That was 49% of all marriages in February. Another memorable number combination was February 2nd, 2022, on which 77 couples made the “bond of life”. February 25, 2022 and February 11, 2022, each a Friday, were also more popular than Valentine’s Day with 33 and 29 weddings respectively.
Methodological note: The results for 2022 are provisional and will be evaluated during the year according to the month in which they were recorded. Therefore, there will be monthly shifts after the annual work. Final annual results for the 2022 reporting year are expected to be available in May 2023.
