Ukrainian and Russian players face off at hotel in Turkey


The War in Ukraine changed to another sphere, several kilometers away from the region. Ukrainian and Russian soccer players clashed in the halls of a hotel in Turkey where the concentration takes place. The violence reached such a point that the police had to intervene.

The fight originated at the Royal Seginus Hotel in the city of Antalya. There, players Shinnik Yaroslavlfrom Russia’s second division, and members of Minaj FCfrom Ukraine’s football elite, have not been able to put aside the war that transcends them.

There are two versions of the fight, according to the Iusport. According to the Russian side, the conflict began when a Ukrainian football player called the captain of the Russians and wanted to force him to sing the anthem of his country. In response, the Shinnik leader asked to continue the discussion on the street.

On the other hand, the Ukrainians stated that the origin of the fight occurred after one of the Russian athletes had behaved inappropriately after drinking alcohol. The situation provoked the reaction of Minaj players. However, the police intervened and the situation calmed down. At least temporarily.

However, there was a second conflict. A group of players from the Ukrainian club met again with one of the athletes from the Russian team inside an elevator. When the doors opened, other Russian players, who were waiting to get on the elevator, jumped into action and a new fight broke out.
