One of the great stories that shaped the Super Bowl LVII was the first confrontation of two brothers in the biggest party of the NFL. on one side was Travis Kelce, winner with the Kansas City Chiefs; of the other was Jason Kelcedefeated with the Philadelphia Eagles, but there is no rivalry that overshadows the blood bond they share.
The confrontation of the Kelce brought to the fore the Mrs. Donna, mother of both players, who became quite a Super Bowl character giving interviews. Seeing her progenitor shine on television and being so appreciated by the fans of both teams she made them sentimental.
In the program that they have together called New Heights Show, Jason and Travis Kelce shared their emotions seeing his mother on the court after the game, consoling the eldest for the loss to the Eagles and celebrating with the second for the Chiefs win.
“The moment I saw mom I got real sentimental because it was so wonderful,” Jason said through tears and his voice cracking, the sentiment rubbing off on Travis.
“It was wonderful because we saw mom on top of the world for a week. The most incredible thing was seeing her on the field celebrating with us. I am so happy for her. Ironically, when you lose the Super Bowl you’re crying, but this time my tears weren’t sad, they were happy,” added the Eagles offensive lineman.
“She’s the world champion, brother. He was on top shining at all times and that was the most wonderful thing. Mom, let me tell you, you overwhelmingly rocked and so did our dad,” Travis commented.
Beyond the result, it should be noted that the Kelce brothers have already been Super Bowl champions. In Jason’s case, he did it with Philadelphia in 2018, while Travis adds a couple of rings with the Chiefs in 2020 and 2023.
