Giovanni Manson is being one of the highlights of the Fluminense at the start of the season. The player arrived without making a fuss, but is already conquering his space in the hearts of the fans with his good performances in six games played in 2023 under the command of Fernando Diniz.
The 20-year-old athlete signed a contract until the end of 2023 with an option to extend until 2024. Giovanni was revealed in the Santos youth team, where he played until the end of 2019. The following year, he signed with Ajax, from the Netherlands. The professional also collects call-ups for Brazilian base teams.
In six games played, Giovanni entered the field as a starter in just one opportunity. He’s already provided one assist this season, as well as five other goal-clinching passes. With 92% of passes correct, some fans are starting to ask for the midfielder’s title.

“Giovanni’s arrival is somewhat reminiscent of what happened in 2019 with Caio Henrique, Alan, who very few people knew. A player who left Brazil very early, and at Ajax he did not manage to establish himself in the main team there at that first moment and returned very well indicated”, declared coach Fernando Diniz after winning the Carioca Championship over Madureira.
