They launch a book in tribute to the 50 years of life of the Club Deportivo Curicó Unido

“50 years, official history of Curicó Unido”, is the name of the book written by the journalist Leonardo Salazar, which tells the story of the creation of the current soccer club in the city. In an agile and entertaining tone, the work narrates the origins of the institution, which go back to February 26, 1973, when the members of the “Badminton de Curicó”, after a deplorable season, decided to change their name and dress it with the typical pains of Curicó. The current name of the team was taken due to the impossibility of using the “Club de Deportes Curicó” that was already being used, so a variant was made until it became “Club de Deportes Curicó Unido ex Badminton”, participating in the second division of Chilean soccer. Edmundo Rojas, José Fernández, Juan González, Héctor Castro and Luis Orellana participated in its original board of directors. Their first coach was Carlos Vega and in their first friendly match, on March 18, 1973, they faced the Teno National Team, where they ended tied at 1, on which occasion the eternal cry of the fans was heard for the first time! Curicó United will never be defeated!
