Paris Saint-Germain is going through difficult times on the pitch. The capital club has just chained three consecutive defeats in three different competitions. Behind the scenes too, the Ile-de-France team has their work cut out for them. But on Wednesday, President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi learned good news. The Parisian reveals that NAK’s May 23, 2019 indictment has been quashed.
He was, in fact, suspected of active corruption concerning the candidacies for the 2017 and 2019 World Athletics Championships. He was therefore cleared since French justice is incompetent to prosecute on this specific point according to a judgment of the Court of cassation. Questioned by AFP, NAK’s lawyer, Maître Francis Szpiner, said: “I am delighted with this decision which is in accordance with the law and I recall that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has always denied having committed the slightest offense in this case.” Good news for the president of PSG, targeted by several cases lately.
