Sean Payton is expected to earn at least $17 million a year with the Denver Broncos. The information is from the 9News portal, which reported this Tuesday (1) that the head coach should sign a 5-year contract with the franchise. This value can reach US$ 20 million.
Payton moved to the Broncos in a move that netted him the No. 30 draft pick this year and another second-round pick in 2024 for the New Orleans Saints, who still held coaching rights. Denver also received a 2024 third-round pick from the Saints.
If salary estimates hold up, Payton would be one of the highest-paid head coaches in the NFL. HC salaries are generally not disclosed by franchises. But, according to the Pro Football Network, there are only 8 head coaches who earn exactly $10 million a year or more.
