Still stuck in the slums of the West, the Lakers have time playing against them if they want to keep a chance of going to the playoffs. Anthony Davis has therefore stepped up to the plate… and the words from the inside have not really been validated by the Californian fanbase.
Still beaten last night by the Blazers of a Damian Lillard on fire, the Lakers are at their worst. They remain on six defeats in ten games and the delay on the Top 10 of the West, synonymous with participation in the Play-In, continues to be substantial (2.5 victories behind). Already absent from the playoffs last year, the Purples and Golds are heading for a most humiliating repeat in 2022-23…
In addition to that, the coaching staff has to deal with a host of new players, following the waltz of transfers operated by the leaders at the trade deadline. Developing good group chemistry in these conditions is therefore anything but ideal, but Anthony Davis doesn’t want to give up yet. On the contrary, The Brow affirms that he still sees his people extending their campaign beyond mid-April:
Anthony Davis convinced of being able to reach the Play-In
Anthony Davis on if he thinks Lakers can get into top 10: « I think these guys we have now, we can do it. We just gotta speed up the process. It’d definitely be challenging a little bit. They’re new, and they’re trying learn the system on both ends of the floor. »

Obviously, the interior remains optimistic despite the current context… We imagine that his teammates will appreciate, but this is not really the case for the supporters who have clearly expressed their disagreement:
Don’t really care what he has to say. Should of had 40+ when being guarded ny EUBANKS

Who cares what he has to say, he should have put 40 points or more being defended by Drew Eubanks

It’s over, AD… It’s over.
Anthony Davis has not given up hope of at least playing the Play-In, despite the Lakers’ disappointing results. It’s good that he is convinced of it, but it will take more to do the same with the supporters of the Pourpres et Ors… for the moment, things are off to a bad start.
