The importance of exercising the brain – NEWSHIDALGO

PACHUCA DE SOTO, 24 FEB/NEWS HIDALGO/.- The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Hidalgo sensitizes the right to the importance of maintaining a good balance in mental health, in order to prevent diseases such as depression, anxiety or any disorder that can put your life at risk.

It is essential to maintain good mental health, because it is the basis for the well-being and effective functioning of a person, so some recommendations to exercise the brain and increase cognitive capacity are to perform physical activity, sleep the corresponding hours, eat in a healthy way, avoid the consumption of alcohol and hallucinogenic substances.

Rosalinda Maldonado Delgado, head of the Department of Social Benefits, pointed out that some of the exercises that are used to improve mental health are: reading and writing; games like: chess, sudoku, crossword puzzles and dominoes, because they promote concentration, improve memory, increase cognitive abilities and help prevent Alzheimer’s.

Likewise, Maldonado Delgado reported that eating a healthy diet is important to strengthen memory and give the brain proper functioning, otherwise the human body will lose nutrients, and it is also favorable to maintain good hydration.

He stressed that the Social Security Center (CSS) has cultural and social sports activities that help benefit mental health such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, taekwondo and swimming, in addition, the classes taught are guitar, folk song and dance.

Finally, the IMSS in the entity invited the right to go to the CSS in order to preserve an active and healthy life through the benefits it grants.
