The Danish Jonas Vingegaard wins the second edition of O Gran Camiño after also sweeping the time trial

The Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) has been proclaimed champion of the second edition of O Gran Camiño, the stage tour of Galicia, after defending his leadership by winning the fourth and final stage, an individual time trial between Novo Milladoiro and the Praza do Obradoiro in Santiago de Compostela over 17.9 kilometers.

With three stage victories and leading the general since the first day of competition -the first stage on Thursday had to be canceled due to a heavy snowfall 20 kilometers from the finish line-, Vingegaard has confirmed himself as the best cyclist of the week, without give an option to none of his rivals.

This Sunday he completed his full triumph in the Galician round by signing a time of 23:47 in the final time trial, 35 seconds better than that of his teammate, the Australian Rohan Dennis (Jumbo-Visma), and 59 better than the American William Barta (Movistar).

Thus, the Dane took the general ahead of the Spanish Jesús Herrada (Cofidis), second at 2:31, and the Portuguese Ruben Guerreiro (Movistar), who completed the podium at 2:48.
