The Czech soccer players beat Jamaica 3:2, the decision was made in the last minute

Although the Czechs, unlike the Jamaicans, did not qualify for the world championship, they still entered the match as favorites. Radov’s charges had a permanent advantage and after the converted penalty by Andrea Stašková and a goal by Klára Cahynová in the set-up, they dominated the first half 2:1.

However, after changing sides, the rivals were able to equalize for the second time and it seemed that the match was headed for a draw. But in the last minute of regular time, after the cooperation of two alternating players, Pěčková knocked the ball into the open goal on the back post and decided with the premier national team goal in her second start.

“In the match we were the more dominant team and we had the game under control for most of the time. We took the lead, which was of course great. Then we should have been stronger on the ball, but on the contrary we made an unnecessary loss, the opponent went into an open defense and equalized at 1:1,” the FAČR website quoted coach Rada as saying.

“Even though we scored a goal just before the end of the half to make it 2:1, the opponent gave us big problems after the change of sides. The Jamaicans equalized for the second time, but we showed a lot of will and in the end we took the match back to our side,” added the former Czech international .
