‘Tedesco has caught Witsel’s dream replacement’

The World Cup in Qatar ended disastrously for our Red Devils. An early elimination after the group stage of the World Championship came as a bolt from the blue. Finally, Roberto Martinez also decided to throw in the towel. Domenico Tedesco will soon have to make choices for upcoming matches against Sweden and Germany.

Southampton surprised friend and foe during the last matchday by winning on the field of Chelsea. Romeo Lavia was one of the absolute strongholds among the visitors. The defensive midfielder shone against the Blues, and the potential Red Devil was praised in the English press afterwards.

Alan Shearer chose to include Romeo Lavia in his ‘Elftal of the Week’, and England fans took to social media to rave about the young Belgian’s performance. It therefore also looks as if the 19-year-old midfielder will soon make his debut in the shirt of the Red Devils.

Dream successor to Witsel?

During the past World Cup, there was already a lot of criticism in the Belgian press about the form of Axel Witsel. The 34-year-old Red Devil seems to have gradually had his best period in his football career, and during the past three matches of Atlético Madrid, he also played no more than 66 minutes. With Romeo Lavia, Tedesco is already offered an excellent replacement on a saucer. If Lavia manages to maintain his current form, the new national coach can only give the youngster a chance during the upcoming games against Sweden and Germany.
