Ronny Deila does not go through four paths: ‘We did not create anything, I am really disappointed’

Like his players, he is a Ronny Deila dejected and frankly disappointed who showed up for the interview after the match against Kortrijk. Logically, his men have undoubtedly shown one of their worst faces of the season, not revolting (or almost not) after the opening goal of KVK. Cold, after a long discussion in the locker room, the Norwegian coach tried to analyze and point out the shortcomings of his team.

“Poor performance“he advances, from the outset, bluntly at the microphone of Eleven Sports. “We did not respect the things we had talked about before the match. The first 25 minutes were the worst. The stadium was almost full, the atmosphere was excellent, but they got into their game better than us. They fought more, won duels, moved the ball more. Afterwards, we got back into the game, we finished the first half quite well. But now, the quality in the last part of the field is not sufficient. How many crosses, how many stopped phases have yielded nothing. In the 2nd half, we came back well, we pushed them back but we didn’t create anything. They, on the contrary, created things. So they deserve to win. We are really disappointed.”

Asked about his speech in the locker room, Share played it straight: “I told them we were well below our standards. The first 25 minutes, we just lost the ball. When we got it back, we didn’t keep it. We weren’t there in the duels “But we have to forget this game and move on. We knew that Kortrijk was going to be present in the 1 v 1. They won too many duels. Then we took over, but again, we have to be much more present at the finish. With all these crosses and set plays, we have to create more chances. Set plays are often a good indicator to show how much a team wants to win a match. What are we creating? 10 corners? We don’t do anything about it. They create a corner and they score. It’s disappointing from the point of view of desire and commitment.”
