The IES La Orden Badminton Club once again showed off its strength and added another victory in the Iberdrola Top 10 League after beating Ravachol Pontevedra by a resounding 1-6- The albiazules further strengthen their leadership in Group A with 18 points and make their intentions clear for the semifinal of the league competition.
The Huelva team started with an advantage in the first quarter in which they only gave up one point. Pablo Abian and Haideé Ojeda they were far superior to Elena Fernández and Hugo Salgueiro, whom they defeated 8-11, 1-11 and 4-11 in mixed doubles. Ravachol’s players Manuel Brea and Jacobo Fernández equalized the score by beating Alejandro Pérez and Alberto Perals 11-10. 11-7 and 11-3, although Paco Ojeda’s men quickly took the lead again after Haideé Ojeda and Laura Santos’ 4-set victory over Elena Fernández and Ana Carbón by 7-11, 11-10, 5-11 and 2-11
In the singles round, the albiazules from IES La Orden dominated with a full of victories. Laura Santos easily defeated Iziar Barcala by 2-11, 5-11 and 8-11 while Alberto Perals easily beat Manuel Brea by 8-11, 3-11 and 3-11. The final two points went up on the scoreboard after the victory of Telma Santos against Ana Carbón by 9-11, 6-11 and 5-11 and that of Pablo Abián against Jacobo Fernández by 11-6, 8-11, 6-11 and 2- eleven
Next game of IES La Orden against Benalmádena
The next rival of IES La Orden will be Benalmádena. The team from Malaga was the only one that managed to defeat the reigning league champion in the first round of the regular season, so the albiazules have the opportunity to take revenge. The match will be held on March 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Andrés Estrada Municipal Sports Center.
