The increased interest of Latvian basketball fans in the NBA All-Star Game was related to the possible inclusion of Kristaps Porzingis in the number of “All-Star” players.
The managers of “Bufetes”, “tv3.lv” sports editor Jānis Janšević and MVP editor-in-chief Ingmārs Jurisons generally recognized the list of voted and selected players as objective.
Basketball commentator and reviewer Reinis Lācis also agreed with his colleagues, adding that despite the earned respect among other players, disregard for the workplace and partial denial of the Holocaust are reasons why the basketball player did not deserve a place in the starting five of the “All-Star” game.
Kyrie Irving was suspended for several games by the Brooklyn Nets last November after refusing to apologize for actions that promote anti-Semitism.
