“Reality of strong school girls’ imitation” “What is the best lead for runners on second base?” High school baseball research is as amazing as the University of Tokyo, working people … We talked to students and former professional teachers-High school baseball-Number Web

On December 17th and 18th of last year, the “Japan Baseball Science Society 9th Tournament” was held at Kinki University. It is a tournament where baseball coaches and researchers from all over the country gather to present their research results on baseball and share their awareness of issues. It was a great event with 340 people involved in baseball gathered over the two days.

At the baseball science study group, “general research presentations (poster presentations)” will be held along with symposiums and lectures held in the main hall.

Researchers at schools and companies narrow down their research to “one theme” and present it as a poster that fits in a space of 180 cm in height and 90 cm in width. There were 91 poster presentations this time.

5 schools have presented 9 posters

Recently, high school students who participate in this poster presentation are conspicuous. A few years ago, only Tottori Prefectural Yonago Higashi High School, which is coached by director Yoyoshi Papermoto, was the only one, but in 2022, five schools will have nine poster presentations. We spoke with some of the presenters.

“Does sauna conditioning have a short-term fatigue recovery effect?”

・ Mr. Kazushi Goto

When our pitcher injured his elbow, it was suggested that a sauna might be an effective way to recover from fatigue. Therefore, we conducted four types of training, and after that we divided the group into a group that did sauna conditioning and a group that did not, and measured the numbers.

As a result, only the squat showed a significant difference, but there was no other difference. However, in the questionnaire that followed, many of the subjects who entered the sauna commented, “My body felt light” and “I felt good,” so I thought it might be useful in terms of mental health.

Expected score by number of outs, defensive formation in pinch…

“A consideration of the difference between the probability of scoring without 0 outrunners, the expected score, and the player’s recognition”

・ Keigo Kinoshita

We conducted a survey to reconfirm the importance of the first hitter. We examined the data of 283 games in the Tottori Prefectural Tournament for 5 years and found that the expected score value and scoring probability of “0 out runners” are higher than “1 out 1st base, 2 outs 3rd base 2nd, 2 outs 3rd base”. However, in a survey of 16 members of our hardball baseball club, only 12.5% of the total said that “no outrunners are important”.

There is a gap between the actual numbers and the perception of the players, and I would like to aim to correct this.
