The Las Vegas Raiders are ready to close the Derek Carr chapter with the team and have been very open about their intention to trade the veteran quarterback. The calls should not delay according to general manager Dave Ziegler.

The formations of the NFL in search of a pivot are quite numerous during this off-season. The New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts could be knocking on the door. Carr is still under contract for two seasons after signing a three-year, $120.5 million deal in April.

“This week at the Senior Bowl, everyone is there. It’s a good time to have those conversations. There will be people interested in Derek Carr. There’s no doubt about it, Ziegler explained in an interview with SiriusXM radio on Thursday. He was a good football player in this league for a long time. Like I said before, he’s a phenomenal human being, and we’ll see where this all goes.”

The Raiders opted to leave Carr on the bench in favor of Jarrett Stidham for the final two games of the 2022 season. Las Vegas was left out of the playoff picture due to their 6-11 record.

The 31-year-old has spent his entire career with the franchise, making his debut in 2014 while playing in Oakland. He completed 64.6% of his passes for a total of 217 touchdowns, while also being the victim of 99 interceptions. Last year, he amassed 3,522 yards through the air for 24 majors.
