CARACAS VENEZUELA. – The representative team, the Indios de Mayagüez, representatives, sensationally defeated the Farmers of Cuba four rounds by three, leaving them on the field of play in the first match of the sixth day of the “65 of the Caribbean Series Simple TV Gran Caracas 2023”, which was held at the La Rinconada stadium.
The game was decided by Enmanuel Rivera who dispatched a single to center field with the bases loaded that left his rivals on the field of play. The victory corresponded to Brandon Webb, in relief role.
Cuba had reached the ninth act winning 3-2, but the Puerto Ricans held a rally against the Cuban closer, Andy Vargas, who took the loss.
The starter for Cuba was César García who threw 6.0 innings, had seven hits, allowed two runs and struck out three. He left without a decision.
Daryl Thompson opened for Puerto Rico, who worked in 1.2 innings, allowed six hits, three runs. Then came Luis Leroy Cruz who worked in 4.1 innings, they gave him three hits. He was replaced by Branden Webb.
Cuba had 10 hits during the game, while Puerto Rico left with eight and one error each in the field.
For the Indians, Brayan Torres went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, Daniel Ortíz went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Roberto Enrique went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
For Cuba, Yosvany Alcarcón stood out 4-2, Yuniesky Larduet 3-2, Yordanis Alarcón went 3-2 with an RBI and Alex Sánchez 2-2 with an RBI.
The first to score were the players of the Farmers of Cuba when they made three laps in the third episode.
