PSG: Marquinhos and Mukiele back in training

After the victory obtained in the snatch Sunday against Lille (4-3), Christophe Galtier had granted 48 hours of rest to his players. This Wednesday morning, under the blows of 11 a.m., the Parisian workforce therefore returned to training with, already, in sight the trip to the lawn of Olympique de Marseille on Sunday evening (8:45 p.m.). A rare thing in this season, the PSG coach has four days to prepare for this clash, the third of the season between Paris and his Marseille dolphin.

Christophe Galtier can rely on his defender Marquinhos, back in training. The captain found his partners and participated in the various exercises of the collective session on the lawn of the camp des Loges. Hit in the thigh during the defeat in the Champions League against Bayern Munich last week, the Brazilian remained indoors the following days to work individually and was forced to forfeit against Lille.

He should therefore hold his place for the clasico where he will aim for a 100th victory with the captain’s armband of PSG. The other big comeback of the day concerns Nordi Mukiele, absent since January 15. The French international trained with the rest of the squad and turned away from Camp des Loges after being sidelined with a right hamstring injury sustained in the loss to Rennes.

The defender has missed his team’s last eight games and his presence in training is good news for the Parisian club in view of the upcoming matches, even if his return to competition will not be rushed.

Nuno Mendes, hit in the knee against Lille, has meanwhile made a few races and must resume training in the week according to the club. He remains uncertain for the shock in Marseille in the same way as Achraf Hakimi, who remained in treatment to take care of his painful thigh. Renato Sanches, injured in the thigh since February 4 and the match against Toulouse, has also trained individually. Neymar, victim of a sprained ankle with ligament damage, was logically missing. His period of unavailability was not communicated by PSG but his package for the clasico is recorded.

Friday afternoon, the players meet at the Parc des Princes for training open to the public. An “event” to which more than 25,000 people are expected to attend.
