Santo Domingo, Rep. Sun.- The wait is over! The Dominican Republic already has its uniforms for the 2023 World Baseball Classic. They were presented this Thursday at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium by the Dominican Baseball Federation (Fedom) and the team management.

For the inspiration of the uniforms, we sought to bring a new vibe that will represent more the new generation that will be in this tournament, giving a fresh, attractive and daring touch to the identity of the Dominican Republic, starting with the redesign of its image which now and for the first time it will include the word Republic.

This decision was made in principle because at the structural level of image and identity, it must include the entire word Dominican Republic.

The motivation of the new white uniform goes back to our first presentations within the contest, a plain white with tricolor sleeves, but including our new identity. This is a tour that attracts a new generation, without losing sight of our past and where we came from.

“I received the request from our manager, Nelson Cruz, that we begin the preparation of the uniform for our flag, which was a challenge since, in production planning, it is an element that is embroidered last, but Jean Paul Aguiló and I immediately understood what it meant to put and make our national symbol first and that’s how we convinced the manufacturer and it was achieved”, said Pavel Aguiló, marketing director of the Dominican team.

“For our away jacket, the inspiration is directly from our national flag, and its main concept is that our players and our nation can wear pride. To be able to see this, it is enough to fold the jacket in four and thus they will be able to see its similarity with a folded flag before being hoisted”, added Aguiló.

In the coming days, three alternative uniforms will be presented that will be exclusively for sale in the Dominican Republic: one called “Country Connect”, which has many representative elements of our culture such as beaches, monuments and cultural heritage. A second one that is very innovative, which will be called “Cayena” and finally the one that could not stay, the “Plátano Power”.

The presentation was held in the seventh heaven of the Quisqueya Marichal Stadium where Juan Núñez, president of Fedom, Nelson Cruz, general manager of the team, Amaurys Nina, executive director, Juan Mercado, director of operations, Román Ocumárez, scouting director, were present. as well as the president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Garibaldy Bautista, Vitelio Mejía, president Lidom and Luís Mejía Oviedo, president of Centro Caribe Sports.
