Pilsen lost Kalvach, the national team midfielder will be missing for several weeks!

“There is a range of weeks when he should be fit and back. It will of course depend on his individual progress and how he feels. We can’t count on him for the next two matches, then we believe that he will gradually return,” the Pilsen website quoted assistant coach Pavel Horváth as saying.

The Czech representative came to the injury on the edge of the weekend duel with Zbrojovka, when Filip Blecha stepped on his ankle during the duel. Kalvach returned to the field after treatment, but after five minutes he had to substitute and left the stadium on crutches.

On Monday, he underwent an MRI of his right ankle, the result of which Viktoria did not comment on. However, given Horvátha’s statement on Friday, he was not favorable. Kalvach will probably be replaced by Senegalese Modou N’Diaye in Sunday’s home match against České Budějovice.

“The absence of Lukáš Kalach opens up a chance for other players and we believe that they will be properly fired up and want to take advantage of this chance,” Horváth pointed out. In addition to Kalvach, Viktoria cannot count on the long-term injured stopper Mohamed Tijani and forward Jan Kliment. They are also out of action for a longer time defender Radim Řezník and midfielder Jan Sýkora, however, both have already joined training.
