on the tatami, Cathy Arnaud conquered young and old

As soon as they arrived at the dojo, everyone put on their kimono jacket and belt. Cathy Arnaud was accompanied by José Lopez, federal technical adviser of the Dordogne, Éric Deschamps, judo teacher who works in the schools of Trélissac, and Laurent Hivert, president of the local club.

Generous and available

Demonstrations and training followed one another and the children, curious and motivated, sometimes intimidated, were able to benefit from the experience of a great champion who likes to meet young people. Generous and available, after each session, she discussed and answered the questions that the students had prepared in class.

Beyond making judo known in schools, this approach is also civic, since the Olympic athlete recalled the importance of sport, perseverance, but also adaptation to others. Perseverance is a concept that students develop in their school career. Listening to the instructions, applying them, working among others without hurting them or suffering them: notions that speak to the little ones. Judo also implies respect for the places of practice and leads to autonomy.

Through her dynamism, her humor but also her rigour, Cathy Arnaud won over children, teachers and parents. In the evening, it is the members of the clubs of Trélissac, Boulazac and Blis-et-Born, from mini-chicks to adults, who have benefited from the experience of the judoka.
