Chieti – With the publication of the national calendars, the baseball and softball season officially starts in Abruzzo. Three teams are involved at national level, in the Senior category: Atoms’ Chieti, the only softball reality in the region, will play the Serie B Championship, while Chieti Baseball-Amateur and Progetto Baseball Teramano will play in Serie C. We all start together : Sunday 16 April, away debut for the Atoms’ girls who are eagerly awaited from the difficult challenge in Florence, while the men’s Serie C will give life to the first derby of the season on the Chieti diamond, starting at 3 pm. Chieti, which this year will play its home matches on the “Tommy Lasorda” diamond in Tollo (Ch), has been placed in an iron group and will have to grind kilometers between Lazio, Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. In addition to the Abruzzo in group D there are Cali Roma, Firenze, Grosseto, Valmarecchia and Anzio. The matchdays will always be played with the double match formula (played twice on the same day, against the same team). The baseball group O is also demanding from a mileage point of view, with Chieti and Progetto Teramano who will have to deal with Bari Warriors and Tritons Taranto: it is played with the one way / return / one way formula, from 16 April to 29 July. The return Abruzzo derby is set for May 14 in Atri, while on July 9 the two teams will face off again on the field in Chieti. The regional youth activity is also in turmoil, with Tollo, Teramo, Pescara, Atoms’ Chieti and Chieti Baseball registered in the various Under 12, Under 15 and Under 18 championships.
