Next PSG shock before Bayern Kracher: defender seriously injured – FUSSBALL INTERNATIONAL

Is that bitter!

Paris Saint-Germain has to cope with the next setback a few days before the round of 16 second leg in the Champions League at FC Bayern Munich (8 March from 9 p.m. in the live ticker at sportbild.de).

Presnel Kimpembe (27) was injured in PSG’s 3-0 away win at Olympique Marseille and will be out for the rest of the season. The defender went down in the 13th minute after a sprint without outside influence and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher after lengthy treatment.

The scene was reminiscent of Neymar (31), who was also injured and carried off the pitch in the 4-3 win over Lille. The Brazilian had sprained his ankle and, according to PSG, “some ligaments were injured”. His use against FC Bayern is more than questionable.

Paris coach Christophe Galtier (56) announced Kimpembe’s end of the season after the Marseille game on Amazon Prime Video. The French international injured his right Achilles tendon. Kimpembe had already missed the World Cup in Qatar because of the same injury.

From a purely sporting point of view, the PSG team-mates were unimpressed by the defender’s early exit against Marseille. Kylian Mbappé (24) made it 1-0 in the 25th minute, world champion Lionel Messi (35) added four minutes later. In the second half, Mbappé made the victory perfect with his second goal after a nice lob from Messi (55th).

It was Mbappé’s 200th competitive goal for PSG, the 24-year-old drew level with club record scorer Edinson Cavani (36).
