Martin Couvra continues his journey in South Africa

Winner of the qualification for the South African Amateur Championship, Martin Couvra made short work of his opponent in the 32nd round on Tuesday.

Martin Couvra is definitely very comfortable on this Mount Edgecombe CC. After winning the South African Stroke Play Championship this Thursday on the same track, the player from Cannes-Mougins went on to win the qualification (in stroke play formula) of the match-play version of the tournament.

The Habs posted two cards of 66 (-6) and 63 (-7) on the two courses of this golf course located in Durban (South Africa) to take first place after a play -off on two holes after finishing level with the Springbok Aldrich Potgieter.

The first round already validated

The player of the French men’s team was called up to start this Tuesday morning as the number 1 seed against Todd Parker for a place in the next round. Martin Couvra did the job beating the Namibian quite neatly 6&5.

Wednesday will take place the following rounds, he will face in the morning the South African Clinton Duncan, 33rd in qualifying. The final is scheduled for Friday morning.
