Luz-Saint-Sauveur. From one piece of information to another

New book by Jean Louis Massoure, “The school in the Barège valley in the 19th century”!

This was written on the basis of municipal monographs of the Barège valley, now called Pays toy, written by teachers at the end of the 19th century, in 1887 exactly, at the request of the rector of the academy of Toulouse. For this study, the framework was imposed. When we compare the different monographs, we therefore observe that the plan is almost identical even if each writer also noted the specific characteristics specific to the municipality where he practiced. The contents are of a variable extent according to the teachers.

The average length is about fifteen pages, but that of Grust has thirty while that of Sassi, for example, has only six. The fact that each of the contributions was subject to a common plan has the advantage of making it possible to compare them at the same time as the significant particularities are immediately apparent. The purpose of this book is to focus on the paragraphs devoted to education but, when the opportunity arises, this study does not omit to note some salient facts specific to one or other of the municipalities. concerned. In bookstores, €9 including tax.
