Luiss does not stop, even Monopoli falls at the Pala Luiss

One more win for the Louis Roma who remains undefeated at home and gives himself, even if only for one night, the top of the standings in cohabitation with Ruvo.

A game, the one against Monopoly, who once again demonstrated the strength of a group with enormous offensive potential and who know how to find alternative solutions on an evening in which three-point shooting is below the seasonal average (“only” 8/31, 26%) . Not only an attack in any case capable of producing 85 points, but also a defense that has been speeding up dramatically in the last few games: Monopoli has in its arsenal great bombers such as Laquintana, Ballabio, Bastone but has not managed to reach seventy points scored.

Luiss starts immediately with high gears: 11-4 after four minutes with Perotti who dictates the law twice in the paint, then Pasqualin takes care of it from long range, Jovovic and Barbon approaching from two points. Fallucca also enters the scoresheet with a nice triple in transition which already marks +12 (18-6) after just five rounds of the clock. Monopoli tries to get back on top with a partial score of 5-0, but Fallucca fakes a three and with a tear finds the bottom of the retina.

In the second period, two baskets in a row by Allodi put Luiss on 31-19, a little later Murri dribbles Ballabio, scores, suffers the foul, and also realizes the free overtime. For the elf monopolized a complicated first half in which he was penalized with three fouls and had to leave the contest very soon. It is clear that the guests, who make their point guard their main offensive weapon, are affected. Two minutes from the end of the first half Pasqualin comes out well from the blocks and does terrible from behind the arc, but Luiss takes her foot off the accelerator a little and suffers a 5-0 run that sends the teams to the long interval on 46-32.

It’s at the beginning of the third quarter that Monopoli makes the greatest effort to be able to get back into the match: Moretti and Laquintana score from long range, Ragusa grabs an offensive rebound and in an amen the game reopens at 52-46 for the hosts. Murri takes care of removing the chestnuts from the fire with a basket and foul, also combined with the technical foul whistled against Moretti. Monopoli attacks the iron well but Jovovic, challenged to shoot, closes a personal partial of 5-0 which makes Luiss escape on +14 at the end of the third period.

Monopoli arrives out of breath for the final round, Allodi scores from under the planks and Di Bonaventura, once again in the guise of executioner sheriff, finds a triple from the table that effectively puts the match on ice at 70-53 eight minutes from the gong. A few actions later Luiss’s masterful circulation after the offensive rebound by Pasqualin, an extra pass by Di Bonaventura who serves Murri in the corner for 73-50 in a fiery PalaLuiss.

The hosts also escape on +22 (82-60) with four high-class points from Di Bonaventura when there are three abundant minutes left: from that moment there is room, on both sides, to let those who have played less.
