‘Los Medallistas’, the story of three athletes reaches the nights of Caracol TV

The Medalists is the next release of Caracol Televisionny becomes the first production of the 2023 among the channel’s news for Colombian nights.

from this wednesday February 8 after Los Briceños, comes this new series loaded with fiction and humor, which reviews the life, struggles, and sporting feats of Yuri Alvear, Ingrit Valencia, and Óscar Muñoz, three Olympic medalists born in different regions of Colombia, and coming from families from low economic resourses.

‘The Medalists, heroes with hearts of gold’, It is described as a tribute to the lives of the three athletes who, in addition to having great sporting talent in judo, women’s boxing and taekwondo, went through many situations that never let them lose their goal, win a medal and raise the national flag.

Those in charge of giving life to the national heroes are the Colombian actresses Paola Valencia, Mayra Luna and the Venezuelan José Ramón Barreto, along with renowned Colombian actors.

“The medalists is a story that invites us to be resilient, to believe, to have faith and to fight. It is a series in which they are going to have fun. Many will feel identified with the problems, with the characters, surely each person will find their stamp in one of us ”, Paola Valenciawhich interprets the Ingrid Lorena Valencia.

For his part, the Venezuelan José Ramón Barreto who continues on the national screen, will give life to Óscar Luis Muñoz, pointed out that “he was a character who came suddenly and took me by surprise. I had Taekwondo classes for two months before I started recording. It was a very physically demanding project, for me it was very fun and very special because sport is a branch that attracts me a lot”, indicated the actor.

Mayra Luna, who makes her debut in a leading role playing Yuri Alvear, said that she never imagined playing a sports character, “I don’t practice any sport.” The actress pointed out that it was a difficult process to learn the technique of Judo, “but productive and of great joy. I am happy about this great challenge and they are going to see every night how athletes have to fight many times with their nails to get to where they are”.
