Launch of the Spanish International U15 & U17 of Benalmádena

The Diputación de Málaga has been the scene of the presentation of the fourth edition of the Spanish International U15 & U17, called “Andalusian Benalmádena International”. The event was attended by Cristóbal Ortega Urbano, Fourth Vice President and Deputy for the Environment, Domestic Tourism, Climate Change and Sports, accompanied by Borja Vivas, Director of the Sports Area of the Malaga Provincial Council, Carlos Longo, President of the Andalusian Badminton Federation and the President of the Benalmádena Badminton Club Daniel Alcover.

In this fourth edition, all expectations have been exceeded, since for the first time all the places in the five tests of the Sub17 category have been covered, even having more than 120 players in reserve who will not be able to participate in the event. Finally, there will be 283 athletes of 19 different nationalities, as far away as Singapore or the United States, who will participate. Also noteworthy is the participation of the Ukrainian national team, which will surely receive the warmth of all the participants and members of the organization, some of whom are already enjoying the Costa del Sol.

Not only has the number of participants increased, but their level will be higher than in previous editions, with many of the top 5 in the European ranking of each modality coming to Malaga, highlighting the European number 1 in men’s individual (IM) and men’s doubles (DM) U17, the Ukrainian Ivan Tsaregorotsev, or his compatriot and number 2 in IF and DF Maria Koriagina. Which shows that this event, as was the intention from the beginning, is establishing itself in the calendar of the best European teams and players.

The Spanish International will begin this Friday at 9:30 a.m. and both the day on Friday and Saturday will last until approximately 9:00 p.m., in a pavilion in Arroyo de la Miel that will be transformed and conditioned from this very Thursday to host this international test. the whole event It can be followed live on the YouTube channel of the Spanish Badminton Federation.

The President of CB Benalmádena, Daniel Alcover, indicates that “the Andalusian Federation and we, as co-organizers of the event, are very excited about this fourth edition, where the level and number of participants are those that we set as a goal from the beginning. All this with some improvements in technology and dissemination that we hope will be to the liking of all who visit us. This would not be possible without the help of the Junta de Andalucía, the Provincial Council and the Benalmádena City Council, which give us the support and stability to organize and improve an event of this magnitude every year. The only thing missing is for the steering wheel to start flying and for the event to run in the best possible way.”
