The four-day bike ride ended with a 119-kilometer flat stage with two intermediate sprint finishes.
The winner of the stage was determined in the finish sprint, in which the Dutch Charlotte Cole (DSM) was unbeaten, the second place was won by the Italian Chiara Consoni (UAE ADQ), and the third place was another athlete from the Netherlands, Lorena Wiebes.
The large group of 93 athletes finished the stage in two hours, 57 minutes and 55 seconds. Laizāne (“Euskadi Foundation”) finished 26 seconds immediately behind the big group and was in 94th place.
Thanks to a great performance in the previous stage, Italian Eliza Longo-Borghini (“Trek – Segafredo”) won the overall standings, beating her teammate and talented compatriot Gaia Realini by seven seconds. Laizāne, who tried to break away in the first stage, lost 38 minutes and 43 seconds to the winner. 110 cyclists reached the finish line.
The UAE Women’s Tour took place for the first time.
