La Tribune looks back on Standard’s feat: ‘Les Rouches play a bit like Union last year’

This Saturday, Standard made a strong impression by winning on the lawn of the Union (2-4). The consultants of La Tribune returned to this meeting on the set.

Cécile De Gernier began by explaining that she was not that surprised: “We know that Standard is capable of making big matches when it doesn’t have to play the game, a bit like the Union last year.” Phillip Albert was himself impressed by the encounter with the people of Liège. “I did not expect this collective performance from Standard. Hats off to them.”pointed the former defender.

“The fact that devices changed his system at half-time to four, was a sign that he realized something was wrong. We had the idea but it didn’t work.”explained, for his part, Guillaume Gautier. Swann Borsellino added: “The defensive organization was even more relevant than the attack, that’s why Geraerts makes a change.”
