Joakim Noah’s speech to the young promises about the use of mobile phones in the locker room

Joakim Noah has been one of the stars of the All-Star this weekend. The Frenchman, who was one of the coaches of the Rising Stars game (which was won by Pau Gasol’s team), also participated in various clinics of the NBA Jr program and shared moments with the Basketball Without Borders promises. To the latter he left an interesting reflection on the use of cell phones in the changing rooms.

This was Noah’s speech:

“The only thing I wanted to share is the importance of being a good partner. Now this is different. Now I go into a locker room and I see the youngsters with their cell phones. Scrolling all day long. Do you know what I miss the most about basketball? Costumes. And when I go into one now I see the boys all day with their cell phones. Put down your cell phone and concentrate on what you have to do.

You can see the mobile later. All the topics we talk about mental health and others start here. We are wasting time with mobile. You have dreams, big dreams of being professional players, being All-Stars, playing to win championships, playing in the Playoffs. Scrolling is not going to help you in a Playoff game. Put down your phones and focus on what you have to do, okay?»
