Newcomer Kyrijs Ārvings scored 24 points in his debut match against the Los Angeles Clippers for the National Basketball Association (NBA) team Dallas Mavericks represented by Latvian basketball player Dāvjas Bertāns, helping his team celebrate the victory. “Mavericks” were superior in the away match with 110:104, but Irving became the most productive player of his new team.

In last night’s match, in which “Mavericks” leader Luka Doncic did not play due to a heel injury, Irving spent almost 37 minutes on the court, made five of nine two-point shots, four of eight long-range shots and both free throws. He also had four rebounds, five assists, one blocked shot, one interception, five turnovers and three personal notes. The defender finished the game with a team-best +/- of +11.

Due to injuries, Bertans and Maxi Kleber could not go to the field for the Dallas team. For the winners, Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 19 points, and Reggie Bullock scored 18, while Norman Powell scored 24 points and Terrence Mann scored 21 points.

In another game, the Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 106-99 in the Eastern Conference giants duel. For the Celtics, six players scored more than 10 points. The leading scorers were Malcom Brogdon and Derrick White, who scored 19 points. Jason Tatum (12+8+9) was close to a triple-double, while another team leader, Jalen Brown, was injured and did not finish the match. Joel Embiid’s 28 points and James Harden’s double-double – 26 points and 11 assists – did not save the “76ers” from the loss.

Finally, the Sacramento Kings beat the Houston Rockets 130-128. The Kings’ leading duo was level – De’Aron Fox scored 31 points and had 11 assists, while Domants Sabonis added 22 points and nine steals.
