Hawks part ways with coach McMillan

Atlanta – The Atlanta Hawks have parted ways with head coach Nate McMillan after a disappointing NBA season so far. General manager Landry Fields announced the decision, until further notice, the previous assistant coach Joe Prunty should lead Trae Young’s team.

The Hawks are ranked eighth in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. Sixth place is required for direct qualification for the playoffs, and a team up to tenth place may participate in the so-called play-in tournament. McMillan initially took over the team as interim coach in the second half of the 2020/2021 season.
